Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and The Kansai Electric Power Company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly study the development of a liquefied hydrogen carrier. This is the first such partnership in Japan between a shipping company and a power company to explore the marine transport of liquefied hydrogen, essential for building a hydrogen fuel supply chain. The study will focus on vessel optimization, safety, and compliance with international regulations. The two companies aim to advance the hydrogen supply chain and contribute to a zero-carbon society.
